Newton's Nook - Inky Paws Challenge #59

'Tis the Season to be Jolly..... Fa la la la la la la la la!

I just love this little Newton... and this image is definitely what one of my cats would do with a real Christmas Tree in the house!  I used the Sunny Studio evergreen branch with three Stampin Up Inks and colored the branch in with a brown Spectrum Noir marker.
Then I used Versamark Ink and embossed the Lawn Fawn snow stamp with sparkle embossing powder all over the background.  I colored Newton with my Spectrum Noir markers and Sparkle markers.  The card was finished off with the Lawn Fawn Fa La La La die cut.
This card was created for the Inky Paws Challenge held by Newton's Nook.  Challenge #59 was to use four specific colors:  Holly red, Pinecone brown, Fir green, and Black.

Happy Fall! What a wonderful time of year...

Happy Fall, Everyone!

I was so excited when I came across this die from Amy Designs!  I die cut is several times and started layering the leaves, pumpkins, and the mushrooms - which I added a few white dots to.... because, I grew up with the Smurfs, and all red mushrooms have white spots!  Because I wanted to join in on the Newton's Nook Fall Challenge, I came across this little Newton, who was originally clinging to a birthday cake, and cut him out so it looked like he was using the frame as a scratching post.... or sniffing the leaves.  :)  I turn the frame into a window - and added a sentiment from Inkadinkado.
I entered this card in the 4 Crafty Chicks Fall Challenge and Newton's Nook Inky Paws Fall Challenge.  Happy Fall!

Inky Paws Challenge #55

It's not the happiest of thoughts but sometimes you need to wish someone the very best when their pet passes.  I was in need of that very card.  I used clear embossing paste and the Newton's Nook paw print stencil and layered it so that each layer matched up.  The sentiment is from IO and the puppy and halo is from Newton's Nook.

I'm seeing dots....Polka dots

I'm seeing Polka Dots!  It was fate that the next Inky Paws Challenge from Newton's Nook was 'Polka Dots'.  I had just come across the die cut from that I had to have because I watched Jennifer McGuire's video on it... and said to myself "You really should play with that!"  Thank you Newton's Nook for encouraging me to do just that!

I tried 4 of the ways that Jennifer McGuire used the die.  I wasn't interested in trying the dry emboss method at this time - I was having more fun with ink and sparkles.

The card above was created by blending distress oxide inks and then running it through with the Polka Dot Die.  Don't move too quick.... make a plan for those itty bitty circles... which brings me to the next card!  This was finished by placing the die cut on some double sided tape and adding glitter to the little circles.  Definitely have a plan if you are going to stick each of these circle down!

America runs on Dunkin... and so do I.  I love this Connecticut coffee mug that I've brought to my Atlanta office.  I die cut the polka dots out of a piece of paper and, like the card above, placed it on double sided tape and added glitter to the little dots.

Caio, Bella!  This card was made by making a stencil with the die.  I decided to create the Italian Flag and then added some sparkle.  I didn't realize I picked a pearlized sparkle spray which is why the colors have a little white in them.  I placed Newton on a card that I clear embossed some of the Italian words from the stamp set.

Lastly, I created the tri-fold card.  I had so much fun coloring in these two kittens in the likeness of Luna and Stella.  I really wish I could make one of them MJ - be he is an all black cat!  One day... one day I'll figure this out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Hugs from Georgia

My baby girl wanted to send her favorite mom a card!  Luna created this card using scrap paper cut into 1/4" lengths and attached to a 4x6 sheet of paper.  She then die cut the 'love' out of the top right corner.  She colored in Newton to look just like her and made sure the ball of string was a glittery pink!  She added a little bit of string and a cute tag saying 'sending hugs.'  She sure does miss her mommy in Connecticut... and so do I.
We are entering this card into the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge which focused on the colors teal, black, magenta , and white.  We are also entering this card into the 4 Crafty Chicks Sequins challenge this week.
