Household cleaning products you can use in your card making

I'm am so ridiculously excited for this Technique Tuesday video series!  In today's video, I search the house for products to use in my card making!  Besides actually having cleaning products in the house, the was quite an adventure and a lot of fun!  The first three cards highlighted today are bleach, dryer sheets, and wax paper!  I hope you enjoy and have as much fun as I did in your crafting!

Card #1 Bleach!  I stamped my image with stampin' up ink, used masking fluid to mask the areas I didn't want affected by the bleach, and used a small paint brush to add bleach to my image.  After heat setting, I rubbed off the masking fluid and colored with spectrum noir OR1 and added glossy accents!  Love this image!

Card #2 Dryer Sheets!  After ironing a used dryer sheet, I adhered it to a stamped piece of cardstock with spray adhesive and added ultra fine glitter!  The gray flowers were made my stamping the image with Melon Mambo ink, clear embossing, then coloring in with bleach!

Card 3 Wax Paper!  I embossed a piece of wax paper and then ironed it onto a sheet of cardstock.  I decided to use my stampin up inks and turn it into an ombre colored card!  The 'happy' is popped up with craft foam that was also diecut.

All about Pan Pastels!

I absolutely love playing with Pan Pastels!  In this video I make two cards and show what types of paper and mediums you can use!  Happy crafting!

 It certainly was a busy Saturday!  16 K-Cup holders were created!

It's Thankful Thursday!

 It's Thankful Thursday!  I decided to enter cards into two challenges and since they were both 'sentiment' related, I decided I'd challenge myself to use the same sentiment... and it worked out!  I was able to make three cards!

I used Ultra Bak paper that my father brought home years and years ago!  It is a shiny paper that is like a sticker.  The sheets I have are posterboard size, but I imagine they come in smaller shapes too!

I used the Scanncut Canvas program to merge the letters of 'thanks' together.  I then cut them out on the Ultra Bak paper - one forwards and one backwards.  Since the sticker portion isn't super sticky, I was able to use it as a mask and then use my heat gun to lift it up.  My mom keeps bringing these sheets over and I'm so glad I found something to do with them!

This card was done using the reverse 'thanks' image and then I added glitter to the sticker!

I used the sticker as a mask, which when hit with the heat come pulls up perfectly, and did the Bokeh method with ink!

I used the sticker, from the Bokeh card, and adhered it to similar color cardstock!  This was a quick one!

Chalks & Pastels! Part 3 of 3

A Weekend of Watercolor Part 2!

A Weekend of Watercolor!

I absolutely can take no credit for the concept!  I was inspired by a video by Heather Telford about using a stencil to create a watercolor.

The stencil and the stamp (same image!) are from Penny Black - products highlighted below.  Essentially, I used distress inks on the backside of a stencil, sprayed it with water and then pressed it into watercolor paper.  Then I stamped a 'wordy' stamp on the backside of the same wet stencil and then stamped the paper to add some texture to the background.  I went back in with the matching stamp and outlined the flowers and then used the distress inks to color the flowers in!  It was an incredible process and you can see my two final products as well as the epic fails below!

For the loss of a pet

I learned of the loss of my neighbor's cat last night and knew I needed to send her some warm wishes from Luna and I.  So, since the chalks were out, I decided to play with my new Newton's Nook stamp set and send my neighbor some best wishes!  I stamped Newton using the new black ink from Lawn Fawn and went to town using my dove blender pen and my Stampin' Up Pastels.

Cats do leave paw prints on our hearts and I wish her all the best.

Watercolor backgrounds and die cuts! Happy Birthday!

I needed a quick birthday card do I decided to pull out the watercolors and incorporate the PPA Color Challenge!  There is done sparkle in it that didn't photograph well because I used done of the pearlescent paints.  Enjoy!  Get your craft on!

Happy Easter Everyone!  I made this card at the Artist Retreat Loft event hosted by Jenn Shurkus.

This was Jenn's design which was one of FIFTEEN cards we made that day!  

This uses the Lawn Fawn stamp set 'Eggstra Special Easter' stamp set!  We used distress inks along the edge of the card, colored with Copic Markers, and then accented some of the eggs and the bow with a quickie glue pen and ultrafine glitter!

This was my special Easter card for Sean!
