Back to School!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!  The minute I saw this sketch design by Chrissy Larson Case This Sketch Challenge #235 I knew instantly what I wanted to do!  With a little modification, I turned this into the old printing paper we had in elementary school to learn our letters!  This also fit in nicely with Rubbernecker Stamps newest challenge, Back to School!

I used double sided tape to add the glitter.  I used the files on my Brother Scan'n'Cut to create the apple and the 'school' letters.

Only tools needed for this card was a ruler, double sided tape, and glitter! 

This card was also entered in  the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday card challenge.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #225

I just completed the Cosmic Watercolor Class with Melanie April Art and had a plethora of planets hanging around the craft room.  I just had to use one of them in some type of project!

I used distress oxide inks to create the starry background and the new Lawn Fawn constellation stamps embossed in white.  I had so much fun blending with the inks - it really is one of my first attempts with these inks and they are so easy to work with!  I can't wait to try again and go a little lighter on the black soot distress oxide ink.  :)

Rascally Raccoons!

Hey there!  These little critters just wanted to stop by and say 'Hello'!  These little guys are from Newton's Nook.  I stamped them on watercolor paper and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.  I die cut the grass and the 'Hello' sentiment and then started layering!  

This card is being entered in a few challenges this week.  This card was entered into the Creative Knockouts Card for Kids challenge as well as the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Sizzix Fox Thinlits - Card for Children 'Lookin' Foxy'

This little guy was so fun to make!  I believe I saw this die cut on an HSN craft day and I just had to have him.  I used this Sizzix set to create a gate fold Fox card.  There were a couple of great card challenges that had themes of 'Cards for Kids' and I instantly thought of this fox.  To finish up the card, I used a stamp from Unity Stamps and attached it to some twine.

This card was entered into the Creative Knockouts Card for Kids challenge as well as the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and finally the Crafty Calendar Card Shape Challenge.

Altenew Garden Treasure & Spotlighting

What a labor of love these beauties turned out to be!  I stamped several of Altenew's Garden Treasure flowers in gold embossing powder down the left side of the card.  Then, I created a spotlight of one of the flowers on kraft paper.  I used watercolors to highlight the flower and then used pop-it dots to place the flower directly over the earlier embossed flower.  

When I matted the card, I dragged my versa mark ink over the right side of the card to create the gold edging.  I think it completes the card.  And... since I couldn't figure out what type of sentiment the card needed, I decided to leave it blank!

My inspiration came from the 4 Crafty Chicks Spotlight Challenge and since I decided to use Altenew products, I am also entering this card in their August Inspiration Challenge.  The design was inspired from the Case This Sketch #234 blog challenge.  I very rarely combine card challenges - but this week it all worked beautifully!

It's Baby Berrier Time!

I was asked to create a baby card for Baby Berrier.... and what better than a strawberry!

Part of this card is an .svg file from svgcuts.com that I purchased.  I loved adding all the little touches and bling to this card.  I do hope the Berrier's enjoy their card and that Baby Berrier joins us soon!

This card was entered into the Crafty Calendar Challenge 'Shapes' for the month of August.   I just found their blog recently and was so excited to have a card I could enter into their challenge!

Case this Sketch Challenge

I wanted to play more with the distress oxide inks and my new IO stamp 'Happy Birthday' and really had no clue what would be the result!  I started with the three inks and blended them on white card stock.  I spritzed water on them and then flicked white acrylic ink.  It was a ton of fun!

I created the hydrangea from a stamp and stencil set and used my Martha Stewart punch to add some 3-D depth to the image.  I used Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink to stamp the image and colored the flower in with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I finished the edges with the Lawn Fawn border dies.

I am entering this into the Case this Sketch Challenge #323.
