Creative Knockouts Challenge - Crafty Sentiment Designs & Lots of Layers!

Welcome back to another Creative Knockouts Card Challenge!  This week is 'Lots of Layers' sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs!  This little nugget of fun is 'Flopsy in the Rain'.
I deconstructed the image, shown below, and created several layers on Flopsy.  I used white and pink flock on Flopsy and then cut out several pieces to color in the umbrella.  I outlined the umbrella with black stickles.  The background is a rain drop stencil that I used translucent embossing paste on and then sprinkled with Elizabeth Crafts cool diamond glitter for a little shine.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #231 Challenge 'Autumn'

Happy Fall!!!

This was a fun 'messy' card!  I used the Newton's Nook leaf set, used a sponge to use FlitterGlu on the stamp, and then I added gold leaf flakes.  Once die cut.... and the mess cleaned up... I arranged them down the side and added the autumn stamp sentiment from Impression Obsession to the bottom right side.

The leaves are so shiny and vibrant in person - it is so terribly hard to show that in pictures.

Wish y'all a Happy Fall!

You are my Sunshine... My Only Sunshine.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.... you make me happy when skies are gray!

I took this photo at volleyball one evening and it was just the perfect image to use to create a card.  One of my Facebook groups created a challenge to take a image of 'weather' and create a card or layout based on that picture.

After using distress inks to create the blue sky background, I used the Altenew rain and shine stamp set and the Neat & Tangled sentiment.  I placed two Lawn Fawn stitched frames on top.

I am also entering this in the Rubbernecker Challenge - smile!

Happy Crafting!

Inky Paws Challenge #55

It's not the happiest of thoughts but sometimes you need to wish someone the very best when their pet passes.  I was in need of that very card.  I used clear embossing paste and the Newton's Nook paw print stencil and layered it so that each layer matched up.  The sentiment is from IO and the puppy and halo is from Newton's Nook.

Just Because.... an image from Di's Digi Stamps

This is the second time I have ever played with digital images and I have to say - I'm having a TON of fun!!!  This adorable image from Di's Digi Stamps was so much fun to play with.  I printed three of these on my laserjet printer - two on watercolor paper and one on standard 120lbs white paper from Staples.  I used my Spectrum Noir Glitter markers and colored the flowers in.  I blended a red, orange, and yellow and they are stunning in person.  They were then all fussy cut!  On the standard cardstock I colored in the hedgehogs, stems, and the jar.  Once the card was assembled I added glossy accents to the bottom of the jar.  I used the Lawn Fawn stitched borders to surround the image.  The sentiment 'Just Because' is from Crafter's Companion and was part of a die set offered on HSN that I cannot locate to link below!  I had so much fun making this card!

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Crafting!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #229

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #229!  I had so much fun shopping in August that it was time to start putting all the new toys to use!

I first created a background with distress oxide inks.  They are so smooth and easy to use!  Then I tried out the new Concord & 9th Sprinkles background turnabout stamp.  I embossed two passes in clear and the other two in a clear sparkle.

For the cupcake, I used the Altenew layered cupcake set and their crisp die inks.  I had soooooo much fun making this little guy!  I added a little bit of sparkle to the frosting which is much easier to see in person.

To follow along with the sketch, I added an edge die from Crafter's Companion.

Thank you for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week!

Photo Inspiration from 4 Crafty Chicks

The 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge this week was an inspirational photo of apples in a basket.  I went online and found an apple sketch and printed that on watercolor paper.  I used my Versamark Marker and went over the outline of the apple and then embossed it in gold.  I used my watercolors to fill in the apple and the leave.  I finished that area with a few Nuvo Drops.
I did a reverse mat of the image.  The top layer was stamped using the new Stampendous Leaves stamp and embossing in gold.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  Happy Crafting!
