I didn't have enough time to give her a proper tutorial, so I decided, it should be a Technique Tuesday video! The funniest part about this video is that I keep calling the 'G' stamp a positioned instead of a guide. I have no idea why... and watching it back, I just keep giggling!
In my last Technique Tuesday video, I created scrap paper holders for my team. I decided I would add an easel desk calendar too! These are super quick and easy to make. Measurements are included in the video and on my blog. Happy Crafting!
First Easel Card measurements:
Base 3 1/2" x 7" (scored at 1 3/4" and 3 1/2")

However, even though we recycle, I typically save the paper, chop it in half, staple it at the top and use the back of the paper as scrap. I am just loving playing with my Gelli Plate. It has been my go-to in the craft room lately. I'm not sure if I like making a mess or the end results better!

It's a beautiful New England day! Today I made two cards with metal flake. I used flitterglu and applied it to my stamp and then applied the metal flake! This is a messy and staticky project but the results are beautiful! Enjoy!
Using Rubber Cement as a Mask and creating a Peerless Watercolor background!

Welcome back to another Technique Tuesday! Todays technique is a bit different than my traditional card making, scrapbooking, or papercrafting videos!
I have the 'lobster two' font downloaded in Microsoft Word. I printed the three words: Live, Laugh, Love. I then scanned that sheet into the Brother Scanncut for a direct cut. Once it was scanned, I swapped out the laserjet print out with a piece of whitecard stock and hit cut! I wanted to create a stencil!
I placed the 'stencil' over a piece of watercolor paper and then coated the stencil with rubber cement.... TWICE. Use a heat gun to set the first layer of rubber cement, reapply the stencil and do a second coat of rubber cement, and also heat set. Rubber cement can create a great mask. It will keep the base color clean and untouched by whatever you decide to do next.
I used Peerless Watercolors to create a background. Once it was dry, I was able to rub the rubber cement off the words and have a clean white background.
These could be cards, scrapbook backgrounds, or framed as I did here. Any stencil could be used. The paper ones I created are still in great shape and ready to use again. If you use a plastic stencil, I recommend washing immediately.
You can create the most unique backgrounds by playing with glue and ink! In this video, I use distress inks to cover a piece of cardstock then I cover it with glue! You can make patterns, swizzles, circles, whatever you'd like! Once the glue is dry.... well, watch for the magic!
I used distress inks, flower/leaf Heartfelt Creations stamps, and Hero Arts 'thanks' die cut.
