A Weekend of Watercolor!

I absolutely can take no credit for the concept!  I was inspired by a video by Heather Telford about using a stencil to create a watercolor.

The stencil and the stamp (same image!) are from Penny Black - products highlighted below.  Essentially, I used distress inks on the backside of a stencil, sprayed it with water and then pressed it into watercolor paper.  Then I stamped a 'wordy' stamp on the backside of the same wet stencil and then stamped the paper to add some texture to the background.  I went back in with the matching stamp and outlined the flowers and then used the distress inks to color the flowers in!  It was an incredible process and you can see my two final products as well as the epic fails below!

These two cards were entered into the CCEE Card Challenge for this week!

  1. Those are so soft and pretty - a fabulous watercolour effect. Heather's videos are certainly inspirational! Thanks for joining the CCEE Stampers.
